Cam Whitmore is an American professional basketball player who has represented the Houston Rockets (2023-Present), as a power forward/small forward, in the NBA (National Basketball Association). He was selected 20th overall by the Houston Rockets in the 1st round of the 2023 NBA Draft. Representing the United States, Cam won the ‘Gold’ medal at the 2022 edition of the FIBA Americas (one of the 5 continental confederations of FIBA (Fédération Internationale de Basket-ball, an association of national organizations that governs the sport of basketball worldwide) that represents the entirety of the continents of North America and South America) Under-18 Championship. It was the 12th edition of the biennial competition and the 10th title triumph for the United States – the team finished the competition with a 6-0 win-loss record. Cam was named the ‘MVP’ (Most Valuable Player) of the competition and was also included in the ‘All-Tournament Team’.

Cam had attended the Archbishop Spalding High School, a private, Catholic co-educational school located in Severn, a census-designated place in his home county of Anne Arundel.
After his high school graduation, he joined Villanova University, a private Catholic research university in Villanova, Pennsylvania, United States. - In recognition of his high school senior year performances, Cam was selected to play in the 2022 edition of the McDonald’s All-American Boys Game – an all-star basketball game, played annually since 1977, that features the best and most highly recruited high school graduates.
- He was also included in the 2022 edition of the Jordan Brand Classic, a high school all-star basketball game played annually in April. It features the best and most highly recruited high school boys in their senior year. The game is named after its chief organizer – Jordan Brand, a division of Nike, Inc.
