- Alexander rushed for more than 2,000 yards in his final 2 high school seasons – 2,017 yards and 26 touchdowns in his junior year; and 2,057 yards and 22 touchdowns in his senior year (2015).
- Besides American football, he ran track and wrestled during his time in high school. In his senior year, he won the Mountain Valley League title in the 110 m hurdles event. Alexander also won a league wrestling title in the 195 lbs category.
