Ben Zobrist is an American former professional baseball player who had played, as a second baseman, shortstop, and outfielder, for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays/Rays (2006–2014), the Oakland Athletics (2015), the Kansas City Royals (2015), and the Chicago Cubs (2016–2019) in Major League Baseball (MLB). In 14 seasons in the MLB, he had won the World Series twice – with the Kansas City Royals in 2015 and the Chicago Cubs in 2016. He was the World Series ‘MVP’ in the latter season. He had made his last professional appearance in September 2019 due to his ongoing marital issues, choosing not to participate any further in the 2019 MLB season. In March 2020, he had officially announced his retirement from competitive baseball.
