  3. In 2015, she met with a devastating crash that required her to get 15 stitches in her knee and 10 in her arm.
  4. Bryony became the 4th New Zealander to win a gold medal in the women’s individual pursuit during the 2020 Summer Olympics.
  5. Botha was part of team pursuit and won the event, breaking the world team pursuit record, at the Junior Track World Championship in 2015. Then, Bryony represented her country at the Oceania Track Cycling Championships when she won once again.
  6. She won a gold medal at the 2017 Chile Track Cycling World Cup.
  7. Bryony claimed a silver at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. Later, in 2019, Bryony won a bronze at the Track Cycling World Championships in Poland.
  8. In her free time, Botha enjoys going swimming, snorkeling, and on nature walks.
  9. She is an endurance-type rider.
  10. Over the years, Bryony has been presented with several awards including Auckland’s Youth Sportswoman of the Year award and North Harbour Junior Sports Woman of the Year award.
