It is a known fact that Americans love to sue. We don’t question why because what else could be an easier way to make a quick buck. Celebrities are the rich and the easiest targets for a common man to make some money out of, unless of course you have been genuinely hurt by the former. Celebrities get sued for things like breach of contract, not paying taxes or even physically hurting someone. However, today we are going to tell you about some of the most frivolous and absurd allegations made on celebrities. These allegations are obviously made towards our favorite or not-so-favorite celebs. The icing on the cake here however, is the reasons for the lawsuits. With the most random cases out of which only some may make sense to you, people out there seem to constantly be on the lookout for celebrities and famous people to sue. Watch out, you might just hurt your funny bone while laughing at this one.
Mila Kunis vs Kristina Karo
Now we have to admit, this is by far the most absurd lawsuit we have ever heard of. Not sure, if you know about this but here’s how Mila Kunis got sued for stealing a chicken! Her childhood best friend, Kristin Karo alleged Mila of stealing her pet chicken back when they were way younger. We already cannot believe this to even be real!
Karo said that the two, Mila and her were inseparable and best friends during school days. Karo’s family were in the poultry business and had loads of chickens to play with. One particular chicken called “Doggie” was their favorite. As Doggie was with Kristina, Mila would go there to play after school hours. One day, the chicken went missing and Mila accepted that she took it, a few days after. Mila told Karo that she could have any chicken (other than Doggie) as a pet as she (Karo) owned an entire farm. Kristina said that she went into depression after that, which sent her into therapy! Mila then left for LA to pursue her acting career. Karo eventually moved to LA as well to fulfill her dream as a singer. Her proximity with Kunis sent her back into depression and reminded her of Doggie! She sued Kunis for a generous amount of $5000 saying that the shrink’s bills and other expenses were getting too high for her. Seriously, are we the only ones who think that makes no sense at all?
Allen Heck vs Michael Jordan
Another unbelievable lawsuit ever to be filed is this one. With the most unrealistic reason ever, Allen Heck who is also an African-American like Michael sued the basketball player for looking like him! He too has a bald head and wears large earrings, like Jordan. He claimed that numerous and random people would approach him asking if he was Michael Jordan himself. Allen was supposedly tired of being asked that multiple times and filed a lawsuit under the pretext of defamation, permanent mental injury and emotional pain. He claims to be suffering from this problem as he was tired of people asking him the same question over and over again. The madness doesn’t just end here; he even involved Nike in this lawsuit saying that it was the brand’s fault for making Jordan famous worldwide. Now, although they may have had some facial resemblance, Allen was at least 6 inches shorter than Michael which is a trait strong enough to prove this allegation wrong. So as per our understanding, if we look like someone and are often referred to as their doppelganger, we can sue them. Wow. Anyway, the total amount claimed by Allen summed to $832 million, which meant, he was expecting $416 million per party? It is said that he later dropped the lawsuit without really stating why he did so. Well Allen, we don’t know what you were trying there but let’s be little realistic, right?
Rob Delaney vs Kim Kardashian‘s Divorce
Kim Kardashian had married Kris Humphries during the peak of their famous reality TV show, Keeping Up With The Kardashians. Rob Delaney is an American, stand-up comedian. After news of their divorce came up (within 72 days of the marriage), Rob Delaney decided to sue them if they did go ahead with the divorce. Although, Rob’s reasoning is not all that absurd, we don’t really see the point of fighting it. According to him, the episodes of the show or the marriage didn’t really bother him. He was more bothered with the promotion of the scam marriage, billboards all over the world and biking advertisers. He also targeted TMZ for promoting a scam wedding for a huge amount of money. TMZ very obviously thought of getting Kim married to increase the TRP and hike up the total earnings of the show. He accused them up for putting up a fake marriage and treating the general public like fools. According to Rob, the whole scam also involved the signing of a pre-nup and a non-disclosure agreement. He thinks that Kris Humphries must have been threatened that if he told anybody of the set-up, there would be consequences.
Ryan Seacrest, the executive producer of the show had to get involved as the charges against TMZ was targeted towards him. Rob said that he was certain that Kim got paid $18 million to participate in this fake wedding. According to Rob, that money could have been used for many beneficial purposes like putting up for schools for the poor, donation and many other methods in which that kind of an amount would have ACTUALLY made a difference. Now, that’s where we agree with you Rob.
Valerie vs Sean “Diddy” Combs
We have heard of over-the-top lawsuits but have you ever heard of a celebrity being charged for terrorism? Well, embrace yourself because this particular lawsuit will make you question humanity! When you think of a person like Sean Diddy getting sued, you might think, it could be because of theft of lyrics, beats or something related to his music business. However, this lawsuit against him was way more intense.
Valerie Turks claims to have had a child with Diddy, who was apparently a part of the upbringing of the child but never paid child support. She also accused him of secretly keeping a casino chip that she had won in Mississippi worth 100s of zillions of dollars. Well, that’s one heavy chip! It doesn’t stop there, wait for it. She also claims that Sean was in charge of 9/11, the collapse of the World Trade Center! She added that Sean and Rodney King crashed the building through their plane, knocking it down as he knew that she and her children were under it. They landed up in the hospital where he raped both her and her children! Now, as unreal as this may sound, it happens that people out there will sue celebrity for the most random reason to get the dime out. But in this case, Valerie’s demands will blow your mind. She asked for a huge $900 billion for child support and $100 billion for loss of income, which results in a grand total of 1 trillion dollars. Take a deep breath. Yes, you just read that right. Now, this may sound like a lot of money, but considering that the chip was worth zillions, Sean wouldn’t have faced too much loss anyway.
Fort Worth vs Dead Elvis Presley
When a singer dies and goes away, many of their fans mourn the fact that maybe they went away too soon. Elvis, who was known as The King back then, was one such noted singer whose death was widely taken note of. With brilliant music in his name and increasing fans around the world, it seemed like nothing could stop him then. His demise hit the music industry in the worst manner and the world lost its pioneer of good, quality music. After his death, there were multiple talks about how it was a scam or it was fake and a cover up to protect himself from the mafia or the government. Some even said that he was an alien and had returned home! Many said that they had proof of these controversies.
In this case, nothing can really be of a bigger proof than talking to the man himself. Now that’s exactly what a man from Fort Worth, Texas claimed had happened. He claimed that not only had Elvis called him but he had done it so many times that it was causing emotional stress to that individual! He also claimed that it was increasing his phone bill. He added that it had caused him too much stress and pain and that he had no other choice but to sue Elvis’s estate for his suffering and damages. Way to go buddy, you have put across one of the most absurd lawsuits in our list. No news on the outcome of this paranormal situation is known.
The Gardener vs Elizabeth Taylor
When you are working for a rich person or any other famous celebrity, it is taken for granted that you might be asked to do any odd job that requires your help and is not a part of your daily chores. Willem Van Muyden was the gardener at Taylor’s house, whose job profile was limited to just gardening. Employees have always been the ones to know what’s happening around, through gossip or hands-on experience. It was no hidden fact that Taylor used her butler to serve her sexual needs. They were known to stay in her room for hours before he used to leave to continue with his work. However, it was also no hidden news that the butler had no interest in women as he was gay.
On an odd day, the butler said that he was having trouble starting to work and needed a little “jump start” to get his day in momentum. The butler asked the gardener to serve his needs. Willem refused to do the same which resulted in the butler firing him from his job. Van Muyden filed a lawsuit against the butler and Taylor under the acts of wrongful dismissal. He was suing them for a grand total of $400,000 but later a statement was issued that no money was given. We reckon they must have tried settling it internally as this issue could have raised many of Taylor’s other secrets.
Jonathan Lee Riches
Remember at the start of this article when we told you that one of people’s favorite pastime is to sue others. It’s the fastest and the easiest way to make money, right? Well, this case is similar. Have you ever heard of Jonathan Lee Riches? Probably not. He was serving jail time for ten years under the pretext of wire fraud. Although, being in jail didn’t mean that he was not constantly troubled by the outside world. Anyhow, one needs to be careful because Jonathan doesn’t take intrusions lightly and will sue you the moment he feels the time is right!
It is because of his nature that The Guinness Book Of World Records named him the most suing man in the world. Jonathan even sued Guinness prompting them to remove that title from their records. However, Guinness is not the only one who has been a target to Jonathan.
He has filed cases against Steve Jobs claiming that the Steve hired O.J Simpson as a hitman to clear a building with pyrotechnics stolen from Great White as well as for aiming nuclear missiles at Lance Armstrong’s bike and price cutting iPhone users. He also sued Martha Stewart for mental and emotional stress after getting poison ivy and falling in groundhogs on her property. Well Jonathan, we have no idea who you are going to sue next, but all the best with your endeavor. You have clearly made this your livelihood.
Well, we have to admit, movies are inspired by real people. Sometimes, we wonder if this is all a joke or people out there are actually this frivolous. We would love to hear what you think about this. Tell us in the comments below!
Well, apparently not. There have been some hilariously dumb reasons for suing and here are 6 of the most ridiculous.
