- It was Cole’s mother who had come up with the name Lyrical Lemonade when he was looking for a unique identity for his high school blog. She had also bought him a video camera and he had soon started directing music videos for local Chicago rappers which he would upload to his Lyrical Lemonade YouTube channel.
- He would also record and post on his channel live show recaps, documentaries, and interviews. In April 2017, he had released his debut short film titled Lone Springs.
- In August 2017, he had directed the music video for rapper Lil Xan‘s song titled Betrayed. It was certified ‘Platinum’ by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America) in 2018.
- In May 2018, he had directed the music video for Chicago rapper Juice Wrld‘s song titled Lucid Dreams. The song had peaked at number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and the music video went on to cross the 600 million views mark on YouTube, becoming the most-watched video on his channel.
