Dexter Lumis is an American professional wrestler who is best known for his stints with the WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc.)’s NXT brand (2019-Present) and Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (2010-2015). He had started his career in 2007 and had performed for several promotions on the independent circuit until 2010. After leaving Total Nonstop Action Wrestling in 2015, he had again switched to the independent circuit before joining WWE NXT in 2019. As of September 2021, he had won the Full Throttle Pro Wrestling Championship (once), the Ohio Valley Wrestling Southern Tag Team Championship (twice), the Tried-N-True Pro Championship (once), the Tried-N-True Pro Championship Tournament (2017), the United States Wrestling Alliance Championship (once), and the Vintage Wrestling Heavyweight Championship (thrice).

- Indi Hartwell – On August 17, 2021, Australian professional wrestler Samantha De Martin aka Indi Hartwell had proposed to Dexter Lumis after the pair had won a match on WWE NXT. Dexter had accepted and their wedding ceremony was held on the September 14, 2021, edition of WWE NXT. During the ceremony, he had choked out the priest allowing professional wrestling commentator and semi-retired professional wrestler Beth Phoenix to take over the ceremony. Beth had recently been ordained a minister. During the ceremony, he had broken his NXT character by saying ‘I Do’, the first words he had spoken in all his appearances at the promotion.

- In April 2009, Dexter Lumis had debuted for Vintage Wrestling. Just about a month later, he had become the first-ever Vintage Heavyweight Champion. He went on to defend the title on multiple occasions before finally losing the championship in February 2011. He had held the title for the 2nd time between April and September 2011 and for the 3rd time between May and June 2012.
- Later that year, he had participated in the monthly Gut Check, a tryout program by the American professional wrestling promotion Total Nonstop Action Wrestling, on TNA IMPACT. Although he was defeated in his Gut Check match, the judges were impressed by his performance had and awarded him a contract and a spot on the TNA roster. It was later revealed that they had only signed him on a developmental contract.
- In 2013, he was ranked at number 199 in the PWI 500, an annual list of the 500 best professional wrestlers in the world, published by Pro Wrestling Illustrated magazine.
- In a June 2020 episode of WWE NXT, he had debuted a new artist element of his gimmick. He had brought out an art easel and had started drawing a sketch that had depicted him driving a car with the Undisputed Era trapped in its rear deck. This gimmick had given rise to his ‘Tortured Artist’ nickname.
