Emma Lamb Facts

  1. At the youth tier, she was named Lancashire’s ‘Player of the Year’ twice – in 2012 and 2015. Prodigiously talented, she averaged more than 100 runs per match at the under-17 tier of domestic cricket in England.
  2. Emma used to play alongside her older brother Danny when she became the first female cricketer (in 2015) to have competed in a local cricket tournament called the Cheshire County Premier League. She went on to play for Lancashire’s men’s academy team, becoming just the second female to have done so after fellow future international cricketer Kate Cross.
  3. Aged just 18, she opened the batting for Lancashire Thunder in the 2016 (inaugural) edition of the Women’s Cricket Super League; a now-defunct semi-professional women’s T20 cricket competition that was operated by the England and Wales Cricket Board. Emma made a huge splash by becoming the highest-scoring English cricketer in that tournament and was the only English cricketer among the ‘Top 10’ run scorers in the tournament.
  4. In the 2021 (inaugural) season of The Hundred, she was the 2nd-highest run scorer for the Manchester Originals with 135 runs to her name.
  5. In 2021, she became the first batter to have scored a century in the Charlotte Edwards Cup, the premier domestic T20 cricket competition for women in England. She finished the tournament as the 2nd-highest run scorer across all teams.
  6. That season, she was also the leading run-scorer (237 runs) for North West Thunder in the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy, the premier domestic one-day cricket competition for women in England.
