  1. Evan started skating in 1993, at the age of just 4. He used to train as a single skater and tested up to the junior level in the U.S. Figure Skating (the national governing body for the sport in the United States) testing structure.
  2. He started teaming up with fellow American competitive ice dancer Emily Samuelson in May 2000 at the suggestion of one of their coaches. The pairing, at the senior international level, had won the ‘Gold’ medal at the 2008 Nebelhorn Trophy. The pair had also secured the ‘Bronze’ medal at the 2008 GP NHK Trophy and the 2009 Four Continents Figure Skating Championships.
  3. At the International (Junior) tier, they had won the ‘Gold’ medal at the 2006 ISU Junior Grand Prix in Mexico, the 2006 ISU Junior Grand Prix in Chinese Taipei, the 2007 ISU Junior Grand Prix in Austria, the 2007 ISU Junior Grand Prix in the United States, and the 2008 World Junior Figure Skating Championships. The pair had also clinched the ‘Silver’ medal at the 2003-04 Estonia IIDC (Novice tier), the 2006-07 ISU Junior Grand Prix Final, and the 2007-08 ISU Junior Grand Prix Final.
  4. At the U.S. Figure Skating Championships, the pairing of Evan and Emily had won 2 ‘Gold’ medals (2005 in the novice tier and 2007 in the junior tier), 2 ‘Silver’ medals (2006 in the junior tier and 2009 in the senior tier), and 2 ‘Bronze’ medals (2004 in the novice tier and 2010 in the senior tier).
  5. In September 2010, Evan suffered a complete laceration of his Achilles tendon after Emily accidentally struck him with her skate blade as she came down from a lift. Consequently, the pair was forced to miss out on the entire 2010–2011 season. In June 2011, they ended their partnership.
  6. On July 1, 2011, Evan announced that he would now be partnering with Madison Chock. They went on to win the ‘Gold’ medal at the 2012 Nebelhorn Trophy, the 2014 GP (Grand Prix) Rostelecom Cup, the 2014 GP Skate America, the 2015 GP Skate America, the 2015 CS (Challenger Series) Nebelhorn Trophy, the 2019 Four Continents Figure Skating Championships, the 2019 Mentor Toruń Cup, the 2019 CS Finlandia Trophy, the 2019 CS U.S. International Figure Skating Classic, and the 2020 Four Continents Figure Skating Championships.
  7. They secured the ‘Silver’ medal at the 2013 Finlandia Trophy, the 2015 World Figure Skating Championships, the 2014-15 Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final, the 2014 CS Nebelhorn Trophy, the 2015 Four Continents Figure Skating Championships, the 2015-16 Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final, the 2015 GP Cup of China, the 2016 Four Continents Figure Skating Championships, the 2016 CS Nebelhorn Trophy, the 2016 GP Rostelecom Cup, the 2016 GP Skate Canada International, the 2016 CS Nepela Memorial, the 2017 GP Cup of China, the 2017 GP Internationaux de France, the 2019 GP Cup of China, the 2019 GP Internationaux de France, the 2019-20 Grand Prix of Figure Skating Final, the 2021 GP NHK Trophy, the 2021 GP Skate America, and the 2021 CS Finlandia Trophy.

In team events, representing the United States, as of June 2022, the pairing of Evan and Madison had also won the ‘Gold’ medal at the 2015 ISU World Team Trophy in Figure Skating and the 2016 Team Challenge Cup.   11. At the 2020 U.S. Figure Skating Championships, the pair had won the title for the 2nd time, 5 years after their first one. This was the then longest gap between such titles in US history. At the U.S. Figure Skating Championships, as of June 2022, they had won the ‘Gold’ medal thrice (2015, 2020, 2022), the ‘Silver’ medal 6 times (2013, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2019, 2021), and the ‘Bronze’ medal once (2018).
  12. At the 2020 Four Continents Figure Skating Championships, they had successfully defended their title, becoming the first ice dance couple to do so since Tanith Belbin and Benjamin Agosto had won 3 successive titles from 2004 to 2006.
