1. She grew up in Istanbul.
2. She is a black belt in karate.
3. Gülşen released her first studio album, Be Adam, on July 1, 1996, through Raks Müzik and the album comprised of tracks such as Saz mı Caz mı?, Son Sözüm, Nasıl Unut Dersin, and Aman.
4. Her 4th studio album, Of… Of…, gained critical acclaim and made Gülşen win the 11th Turkey Music Award in the “Best Female Pop Singer” category.
5. She has been involved in social work and wrote and voiced a song titled En Parlak Yıldız (The Brightest Star) for UNICEF’s Stars of Istanbul education project in 2011.

7. In 2022, Gülşen was arrested and was later taken to the Istanbul Courthouse after she had made a joke during a concert about the religious İmam Hatip schools. She was later sent to Bakırköy Women’s Prison and was charged with “inciting or insulting the public to hatred and enmity”. In August 2022, she was released from jail and was placed under house arrest. In May 2023, it was revealed that the court had sentenced her to 1 year in prison, which was later changed to a 10-month suspended sentence.
