  1. He spent his childhood years growing up on a cattle farm in Hawarden, Iowa.
  2. After considering offers from Purdue, Kansas State, and Indiana, Hunter Dekkers committed to play college football at Iowa State University.
  3. As a true freshman, he played 3 games before redshirting the season and completed five of seven pass attempts for 114 yards and one touchdown and also rushed for a touchdown.
  4. As a redshirt freshman, Hunter Dekkers spent the season as the backup to starter Brock Purdy completing 20 of 36 passes for 193 yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed four times for 61 yards and one touchdown in four games.
  5. In his redshirt sophomore season, he was named Iowa State’s starter.
  6. After he was accused of sports gambling, Hunter Dekkers stepped away from the Iowa State football program in August 2023.
