Izzy Stradlin is an American guitarist, singer, and songwriter who is best known as the co-founder and former rhythm guitarist of the rock band Guns N’ Roses. He had recorded 4 studio albums with the group before leaving in 1991 owing to creative differences. After this, he had fronted his own rock band called Izzy Stradlin and the Ju Ju Hounds, before achieving further success as a solo artist. He was inducted into the ‘Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’ in 2012, as a member of Guns N’ Roses.

- He had moved to Los Angeles straight after his high school graduation to pursue a career in music.
- In August 1989, he was arrested for causing upheaval during a US Airways (then known as USAir) flight. He was alleged to have urinated on the floor, verbally abused a stewardess, and smoked during the flight.
- In September 1989, after Guns N’ Roses had won the ‘Best Hard Rock Video’ at the MTV Video Music Awards, Izzy was attacked by Vince Neil, the lead vocalist of the heavy metal band Mötley Crüe. Although he had not suffered any major injury, he did receive a cut on his lip from Vince’s ring.
- Even after he had left Guns N’ Roses in 1991, he had played 5 shows with the band in April and May 1993. This was after his replacement Gilby Clarke had fallen sick and was unable to perform in those shows. Axl Rose, the lead vocalist, and lyricist of Guns N’ Roses, had called Izzy up to check if he could fill in for a while and he had obliged.
