- He was brought up in Cameron Park near Sacramento.
- Jackie started to take an interest in music at an early age beginning with learning to play the piano. Later, by the age of 14, he had already started to learn to play the guitar. Shortly after learning to play the guitar, he also started performing at local bars.
- After graduating from high school, Jackie relocated to Sacramento where he performed at various established locations that included Marilyn’s, Fox & Goose, and The Blue Lamp.
- Jackie recorded his music at a makeshift garage studio.
