Kelli Ali Facts
- She was recruited by Liam Howe and Chris Corner for their music band, Sneaker Pimps. Corner and Howe felt that the female voice was perfect for the type of music that they had envisioned.
- Before she joined Sneaker Pimps, she was working with a band called Psycho Drama. She had joined the band at the age of 16.
- Howe and Corner had gone to a pub on their band manager’s suggestion to watch Kelli perform. They realized that she was perfect for their band and hired her instantly.
- In 1998, she was asked to leave Sneaker Pimps as Corner felt that his vocal style was better suited for the type of music that they were turning to. Also, Dayton’s presence in the previous tour had caused a lot of stress for the band.
- In 2003, she was asked by the Scottish-American alternative band, Garbage, to perform with them at their tour dates.
- Earlier in her music career, she was invited by Russell Cross of the band The Lumieres to join his band as a songwriter, singer, and lead vocalist. The band had only released one major single, Cinder Hearts, therefore, she decided to focus on Sneaker Pimps.
- In December 2016, she announced via an Instagram post that she had started working on her new project, Ghostdriver, which would be a film as well as a studio album. In December 2017, it was announced that the filming had been completed and the music album was in the later stages of production.
