Kimbo Slice was a Bahamian mixed martial artist, boxer, professional wrestler, and occasional actor who gained popularity for the mutual combat street fights which were spread across the Internet. In 2007, he signed a professional contract with EliteXC after leaving the underground fighting scene. Kimbo Slice competed with Houston Alexander in his UFC debut in The Ultimate Fighter: Heavyweights finale and emerged as the winner. Slice had also appeared in a handful of movies including The Scorpion King 3: Battle for Redemption, Blood and Bone, Merry Christmas, Drake & Josh, Dawg Fight, and Circle of Pain.

  2. Reportedly, he got into his first fight at the age of 13 during his time at Bel-Air Elementary School as he tried to defend a friend.
  3. His house in Perrine, Florida was destroyed by Hurricane Andrew in 1992 and this forced him to live in his 1987 Nissan Pathfinder for a month.
  4. He had a tryout with the Miami Dolphins in 1997 and was part of the pre-season squad. However, he was unable to secure a spot on the first team.
  5. In 2008, he made his first film appearance as Bludge in the American Christmas comedy film, Merry Christmas, Drake & Josh.
  6. He played the role of J.C., an inmate who is stabbed by Bone in an attempt to kill him at the beginning of the film, in the 2009 American martial arts film, Blood and Bone.
  7. Rolling Stone called him “The King of the Web Brawlers”.
  8. He was admitted to a hospital on June 5, 2016, and died on June 6 a short time later. Scott Coker, CEO of Bellator MMA, said: “We are all shocked and saddened by the devastating and untimely loss of Kimbo Slice, a beloved member of the Bellator family.”
