1. Mark was interested in engineering from a very young age. While still in high school, he created a pair of goggles that could help avoid eye irritation while cutting onions.
2. Between 2004 and 2013, he served NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration – an independent agency of the U.S. federal government responsible for the country’s civil space program, aeronautics research, and space research) as an engineer.
3. For the majority of his time there, Mark worked on Curiosity (a car-sized rover that explores specific areas on the surface of Mars) at NASA‘s ‘Jet Propulsion Laboratory’ (a federally funded research and development center in Pasadena, California).
