- She had started taking an interest in acting while in high school and has also been modeling ever since.
- Meera regularly hosts the Top 20 Music Countdown on PTV.
- In the year 2000, Meera was named amongst some of Pakistan’s most beautiful stars.
- She made her debut film appearance in Kanta in 1995. Later, in 2005, she appeared in her first Bollywood film Nazar. She has since appeared in several popular Hindi language films such as Bhadaas and Paanch Ghantey Mien Paanch Crore.
- In April 2021, Meera’s mother had publicly stated that Meera was forcefully admitted into a psychiatric facility in New York. However, Meera’s manager dismissed the claims stating that her mother was spreading false news and that Meera was at her home in the United States. Nevertheless, she did visit a psychiatric facility for a routine checkup.
- In June 2021, Meera made headlines after coming out to the media stating that her mother was kidnapped by land-grabbers due to issues relating to the property. She had subsequently submitted an application at the Capital City Police Office in Lahore. However, the man who was accused of doing so had also filed a complaint against her family stating that he had been cheated by her mother and brother as he had paid for the property that belonged to her mother but did not receive the documents from them.
- In the past, Meera had relocated to Mumbai, Maharashtra in order to pursue her Bollywood career and has become the first actress of Pakistani origin to make a crossover to Bollywood.
