Despite he was offered numerous scholarships from colleges such as Princeton, Northwestern University, and the University of Michigan, he chose to accept the one offered by the University of Virginia and studied finance there while playing tennis at the same time. But however, only two weeks before the school year was about to begin, Raonic decided to become a professional and eventually turned down the scholarship.
He instead started taking a correspondence course.

According to ATP, Milos was ranked 4th on May 11, 2015, behind Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer, and Andy Murray. He is considered one of the best Canadian players in the history of the game. He is also known for participating in two Grand Slam events at Wimbledon 2014 and Australian Open 2016 reaching semifinals in both the events.

- At the age of 3, Milos and his family relocated to Brampton, Ontario from Montenegro.
- Milos speaks Serbian and English fluently.
- He was first introduced to tennis when he was 6. Milos then attended a one-week tennis camp in Brampton.
- Raonic’s father wanted his son to be coached and trained by Casey Curtis which in fact did happen after Casey saw the commitment of Milos who worked with his father and the ball machine every day for two months regularly.
- In 2007, Raonic moved with another group of players to the National Tennis Centre at Montreal.
- Milos was a part of the 2016 NBA All-Star Celebrity Game. He played along with fellow Canadian tennis player Eugenie Bouchard.
