As soon as he completed his degree, he joined as an account assistant at a wholesale cement business. Later, he moved to Dubai, UAE and worked as an accountant. The job paid him 4 times more of what he was getting paid in India. As he was unhappy with his job, he returned to India. He joined Koothupattarai, a prominent Tamil theatre group after working for a short period in the marketing company that dealt with readymade kitchens. Director Balu Mahendra’s remark on the actor about having a photogenic face motivated him to enter the film industry.
