1. At the age of 12, he decided to join the youth academy of Olympique Lyonnais. However, he was released by the academy 2 years later as the academy coaches felt that he wasn’t too strong to succeed.
2. After noticing his strong performances in the youth teams of Vaulx-en-Velin and Saint-Priest, Lyon decided to re-sign him in 2011. He was also pursued by Lyon‘s local rivals AS Saint-Étienne but Fekir wanted to hold out for Lyon.
3. He was first called to the Lyon first team in July 2013. However, he remained an unused substitute in his side’s 1-0 home win over Grasshopper in a UEFA Champions League’s qualifying round match.
4. In April 2014, Nabil scored his first professional goal in his side’s 4-1 win over Bastia in a Ligue 1 match. He also recorded 2 assists for Bakary Koné’s and Alexandre Lacazette‘s goals.
5. The 2014-15 season proved to be his breakthrough season as he played 34 matches and managed to score a total of 13 goals in the season. He also managed to record 9 assists.
6. At the end of 2014-15 season, he was included in the Team of the Year for Ligue 1. He was also declared the Ligue 1 Young Player of the Year.
