- In 2000, he started training in Wing Chun, a traditional Southern Chinese Kung fu style and trained for 8 years.
- He has also been trained in tai chi and traditional forms of wushu under Zhang Zhi Bing, an influential martial arts master from Harbin, China. Osric lived in China for 4 years during his training.
- To prepare for the Canadian National Team Trials, he trained with BSU Wushu Team at Beijing Sport University for 7 months in 2007.
- His training proved to be useful as upon his return, he managed to secure a place in the Canadian National Wushu Team.
- Before he became an actor, he harbored wishes of becoming a Hollywood stuntman.
