Rachel Griffiths is an Australian actress and director who made her acting debut in the series Secrets in 1993. Following her debut, she appeared in a supporting role in the comedy-drama film Muriel’s Wedding (1994), a movie that earned her an ACCTA Award for “Best Actress in a Supporting Role”. Griffiths, who has compiled numerous awards as an actress, also appeared on many critically-acclaimed movies including Julia Roberts‘s romantic-comedy film My Best Friend’s Wedding (1997) and in Hilary and Jackie (1998) during which she obtained a nomination for the category Academy Award for “Best Supporting Actress”.
