Suzy Kolber is an American sideline reporter, sportscaster, TV anchor, and producer, best known as one of the longest-serving anchors for ESPN. She started working for ESPN2 in 1993, at the time of its launch. Suzy remained there until November 1996, when she left for Fox Sports, before joining back to ESPN in 1999. Most notably, she was a reporter for ESPN’s Sunday Night Football (2001-2006), Monday Night Football (2006-2018), and in 2018, became a studio host for NFL Live, and on-site host for Sunday NFL Countdown.

  1. When she was 10 years old, Suzy won a spot on the little league football team. However, due to strong opposition from other adults, as well as her own parents, she quit.
  2. The 1st time she thought about sportscasting as a “cool” job was when she watched Bob Costas do studio work regarding the NFL.
  3. Her narration has been featured in video games such as ESPN Extreme Games for Sony PlayStation and ESPN NFL Football for Microsoft Xbox & Sony PlayStation 2.
  4. Between 1985 and 1989, she was a producer of the 5:30 P.M. sportscast at WTVJ-TV. In 1988, she received a local Sports Emmy for her work.
  5. On December 20, 2003, during a New York Jets Game, their former quarterback, Joe Namath, drunkenly told her that he wanted to kiss her and couldn’t care less that his team was struggling. Suzy brushed it off, stating that she would take it as a compliment, even though the video received national attention. In 2012, Suzy said that he was a good person, got help, and commended him for regaining custody of his kids after his divorce. Joe, in his 2019 book, Namath, stated that the event was “a blessing in disguise” and that he hadn’t had a drink ever since.
  6. Sports Business Daily magazine included her in their 2004 list of “10 Favorite Sports TV Personalities of the Past 10 Years”.
  7. In 2006, Suzy became the 1st female recipient of the Sports Broadcaster of the Year Award, given by the Maxwell Football Club.
  8. She was a part of the 2006 Super Bowl XL Detroit broadcast alongside Michele Tafoya, as well as its pre-game show contributor.
  9. The hardest coach she had to interview was Bill Belichick.
  10. In 2016, Suzy was inducted int the Hair Fan’s Hall of Fame.
