Tim Lambesis is an American musician and music producer who is best known as the co-founder and lead vocalist of the metalcore band As I Lay Dying and for his work with the solo/side thrash metal project Austrian Death Machine where he performed multiple instruments. He had also organized a death metal band known as Pyrithion; and had played the guitar for the Dallas-based Christian metal band Society’s Finest and the Christian hardcore band Point of Recognition.

- He was voted ‘Most Like Jesus’ by his classmates at Santa Fe Christian School.
- He is a bodybuilding enthusiast and had once started a fitness-based YouTube channel.
- In 2013, he was arrested for hiring a hitman to murder his ex-wife Meggan Murphy. The man that he had hired, for USD 20k, turned out to be an undercover agent. Although he had pleaded ‘not guilty’ initially, he had changed his plea to ‘guilty’ in February 2014 after which he was sentenced to 6 years in prison. He was released on parole in December 2016.
- In 2016, after having spent about 2 years in prison, he had filed a lawsuit against a couple of detention centers in California alleging gross negligence. He complained that they had denied his request for anastrozole, a drug that had been prescribed to him to fight the side effects of his withdrawal from steroids. He had also alleged that as a result of this, he had developed breasts and had to deal with severe emotional distress. The courts had dismissed his request for damages in September 2016.
- In December 2020, he was hospitalized after suffering burns to 25% of his body due to a bonfire accident.
