Timothy Olyphant is an Emmy nominated American actor and producer who is notably known for his important portrayal of the character Mickey Altieri in Scream 2 (1997), Todd Gaines in Go (1999), Hollywood Jack in A Man Apart (2003), Kelly in The Girl Next Door (2004), and Agent 47 in Hitman (2007). He is also known for the roles he played in several other films such as Catch and Release (2006), Live Free or Die Hard (2007), A Perfect Getaway (2009), and The Crazies (2010). Besides his big screen appearance, Timothy garnered a lot of attention through shows with his character as Sheriff Seth Bullock in Deadwood (2004-2006), Raylan Givens in Justified (2010-2015), Rake Grinder in The Grinder (2015-2016), and as Joel Hammond in Santa Clarita Diet. Timothy also had incredible success in theatrical productions and was given a Theatre World Award in 1996, for his performance as Tim Hapgood in The Monogamist (1995).   2. His older brother Andrew is an A&R for Warner Bros. Records and his younger brother Matthew was once the lead singer of the pop band Fetish.
  3. Timothy’s father John, worked as the vice president of E & J Gallo Winery.
  4. His maternal grandfather Abraham was a Jewish immigrant from Tula, Russia. He also possesses the blood of the prominent Vanderbilt family. His 4-times great grandfather Cornelius Vanderbilt and 3-times great grandfather William Henry Vanderbilt were both wealthy businessmen. The two made an immense amount of fortune through their railroads and shipping business.
  5. His last name ‘Olyphant’ is said to be of Scottish roots. Also, it is pronounced as “All-uh-fint”.
  6. During his childhood days, he didn’t seem to find much interest in acting. Besides, he sought to art, drawing, and swimming in his early days. Eventually, in 1986 after taking part in several competitions, Timothy won the United States Swimming National Championship in the ‘200m Individual Medley’. Later, he was taken on to the USC Trojans swim team by coach Peter Daland. Later, in 1990, after he graduated, he worked with the Irvine Novaquatics as their swimming instructor.
  7. Prior to taking up fine arts at the University of Southern California, Timothy wanted to pursue a degree in architecture. However, due to the busy schedule he would have as a swimmer, he was advised to pick something else and the rest is history.
