The pair became parents on April 27, 2009, when Alex gave birth to fraternal twins – a daughter named Olivia Lou Sykes and a son named Lucas Claude Sykes. 1. Wanda’s first job after her college graduation was for the National Security Agency (NSA), as a procurement officer and a contracting specialist (1986-1992), at Fort Meade in Laurel, Maryland. As she was not completely satisfied with her day job, she used to perform stand-up comedy as a part-time job. Her first live performance was at the Coors Light Super Talent Showcase in Washington, DC, in 1987.
2. In September 2004, she had published a book titled Yeah, I Said It, a collection of humorous observations, jokes, and rants about myriad topics including s*x, politics, war, national security, crime, guns, and race.
3. In May 2009, when she was invited as the featured entertainer and master of ceremonies for the annual White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner, she became both the first African-American female and the first openly LGBT person to get that honor.
