Yohani is a Sri Lankan singer, songwriter, rapper, music producer, YouTuber, and businessperson who had started her career in the entertainment industry by recording covers of popular songs and uploading them on YouTube. She had first started to get recognized after posting a rap cover of a popular song titled Deviyange Bare. She shot to global fame in May 2021 after releasing her cover of the 2020 Sinhala song Manike Mage Hithe. As of September 2021, that particular video on her channel had crossed the mark of 125 million views and she had also become the first Sri Lankan female singer to surpass the mark of 2.5 million subscribers on YouTube. Her debut Sinhala-language solo studio album, featuring 12 songs, was set to be released during a live concert in December 2021.
