- At the young age of 17 years, she managed to secure a publishing deal. Moreover, her debut novel Solitaire was published in 2014 when she was just 19 years old.
- In her novel Radio Silence, the protagonist Frances’ academic experience and later disillusionment while studying at Durham University was inspired by Alice’s real-life experience at the university. Moreover, her other novel Loveless, which was published in July 2020, was also inspired by her time at the university.
- In 2017, Radio Silence was named as one of the ‘Best Books of the Year’ by the Bank Street Children’s Book Committee.
- Alice uses she/her and they/them pronouns.
- She worked on the web comic Heartstopper as a writer and illustrator with the first 4 volumes being published in October 2018, July 2019, February 2020, and May 2021 respectively. The story follows a budding romance between the characters Charlie Spring (who is the brother of Tori Spring) and Nick Nelson; both of whom were first introduced in the book Solitaire.
- In April 2022, Heartstopper was adapted into a live-action television series for Netflix, with Alice stepping in as the screenwriter. Actors Joe Locke and Kit Connor appeared as the lead characters of Charlie Spring and Nick Nelson respectively. The series was well-received and especially praised for tackling subjects such as LGBT+ relationships, mental health issues, and eating disorders.
