  2. His brother Jorma is a former writer for Saturday Night Live as well as one-third of the comedy music trio The Lonely Island.
  3. Asa has composed music for various television shows including The Simpsons, The Cleveland Show, and American Dad.
  4. He developed an interest in music in elementary school while he was part of the choir. One of the earliest instruments that he picked up was a trumpet. It was during the religious holidays. Later, in high school, Asa began to learn to play jazz.
  5. While attending boot camp, he enjoyed eating Dunkin Donuts.
  6. He has been a long-time fan of hip-hop and rap music. Asa also considers Bay Area rappers like Souls Of Mischief, E-40, and Mac Dre to be his influences.
  7. In 2009, Asa won the Primetime Emmy Award for “Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics” for his work with The Lonely Island.
