Bone Crusher Facts

  1. Before he found fame as a rapper, he used to work as a chef at several of the restaurants across Atlanta.
  2. Bone Crusher got into rapping as a kid. However, his parents didn’t understand what he was doing initially, but he was backed by his grandfather.
  3. He got in hip hop scene as early as 1987. Along with rapping, he had taken few DJing gigs as well.
  4. Before starting his career as a solo artist, he used to write hooks for the established rappers such as Organized Noise, Lil Jon and Too Short.
  5. Years before he was signed up as a rapper by Jermaine Dupri for his label So So Def Recordings, he had designed logo that was later used for Dupri’s merchandised jackets. Dupri didn’t even know that he was a rapper.
  6. At the start of 2013, Bone Crusher was the subject of widespread ridicule on the internet after picture of him using a motorized cart to get around Minnesota mall was leaked. He later asserted that he didn’t use a cart because he was too fat to move. It was knee surgery that forced him to use it.
  7. In 1999, he became a founding member of the hip hop group, Lyrical Giants and continued to perform till the launch of his solo career in 2003.
  8. Bone Crusher and his Lyrical Giants mates Bizar and Baby B were first discovered by Atlanta entertainment attorney Vince Phillips during local rap challenges. He got them opportunities to work with labels such as Death Squad and Tommy Boy.
  9. He was motivated to pursue a solo career after Lyrical Giants’ record deal with label J-Cor fell apart. He felt it was the time to go take it all on his own.
