- She spent the first 10 years of her life in Detroit before her parents decided to move to Atlanta Georgia.
- Her ability to sing was inherited from her father Danny who was part of a men’s vocal group called “Rick, Ran & Dan” that mostly performed in and around Detroit.
- Brandi and singer Shamari DeVoe met one another when she was only 10 years old while taking part in a talent show. Brandi had previously participated in many competitions under the stage name of Danielle Foushe.
- She collaborated with rapper Nelly and provided the female vocals for his Grammy-nominated track Grillz which was released in 2005.
