Brandon Moreno Facts
- When Brandon was 12 years old, he had wished to lose weight for which his mother had enrolled him at a local gym. This was where he first came into contact with the world of mixed martial arts and began training soon.
- He had always wanted to attend law school but once he fell in love with mixed martial arts, he gave up on that idea. He had made his MMA debut in local events in Mexico, amassing a 6-3 win-loss record.
- In 2014, he had joined the World Fighting Federation promotion where he had accumulated a 5-0 win-loss record, eventually winning the flyweight championship. These performances had helped him get selected for the flyweight tournament on the 25th season of The Ultimate Fighter. He had made his debut with the UFC while his season of The Ultimate Fighter was still airing.
- In his very first bout in UFC, he had won via submission in the 1st round. He had also earned a ‘Performance of the Night’ UFC Bonus Award.
- In August 2017, after losing his bout at UFC Fight Night 114, he had tested positive for clenbuterol from an in-competition urine sample that was collected a day after the fight. After an investigation, the USADA (United States Anti-Doping Agency) had determined that the substance had entered Brandon’s body from clenbuterol-contaminated meat that he had consumed in Mexico. Hence, he was neither sanctioned nor banned by the USADA.
- He is a dedicated Lego collector and is also a big fan of Funko Pop, an American company that manufactures licensed and limited pop culture collectibles, best known for its licensed vinyl figurines and bobbleheads.
