- David’s parents were both born and brought up in Vietnam. However, they moved to Canada in 1990, just a year before his birth.
- He was interested in filming and editing from a young age and used to make videos with his high school friends. However, he only began posting videos on his primary YouTube channel after 2009.
- His parents had wanted him to become a doctor and he had taken up mathematics and science when he was in 11th grade. However, a loss of interest in academics pushed him to try and pursue a career in his primary interest area of video editing.
