Davy Klaassen is a Dutch professional soccer player who has represented, as a midfielder, AFC Ajax (2011-2017, 2020-Present) in the Netherlands, Everton F.C. (2017-2018) in England, and SV Werder Bremen (2018-2020) in Germany. In 2013, he appeared in 6 matches for Jong Ajax, the reserve team of AFC Ajax. Jong Ajax competes in the second tier of the soccer league system in the Netherlands. With AFC Ajax, he won the Eredivisie (the highest level of professional soccer in the Netherlands) title in the 2011–12, 2012–13, 2013–14, 2020–21, and 2021–22 seasons; and the KNVB Cup (the premier domestic knockout soccer competition in the Netherlands) in the 2020–21 season. With the club, he also won the Johan Cruyff Shield in 2013. The trophy, also known as the Dutch Super Cup, is named after Dutch soccer legend Johan Cruyff, and is annually decided by a one-off match that is played between the winners of the Eredivisie and the KNVB Cup. At the international level, Davy represented the Netherlands at the under-16, under-17, under-19, and under-21 tiers before making his senior national debut in March 2014. He was the 100th player to have made his debut for the Dutch senior national team while plying his trade at the club level with AFC Ajax.

- Davy started his youth career in 1999 when, as a 6-year-old, he joined the youth team of a local amateur club called HVV de Zebra’s. In 2003, he joined the youth team of HSV Wasmeer in his hometown of Hilversum.
- A year later, he was recruited by the famed Ajax Youth Academy based in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The organization manages youth teams (ages 7–18) and serves as the feeder line for AFC Ajax, one of the Netherlands’ ‘Big 3’ soccer clubs (the others being PSV Eindhoven and Feyenoord).
- In the 2011–12 season, representing the Ajax A1 youth squad, Davy won the national league title.
