  1. Colin Farrell (2008-2009) – Emma first met Hollywood star Colin Farrell at a dinner party in 2008. After the party, they had a long chat, which signaled the start of their love affair. In her memoir, she had divulged some details of their relationship. However, the Irish actor hasn’t been referred by his name in the book and has been instead called Gypsy Husband. As per her memoir, they were very serious about each other and he was even worried about her tendency to harm herself when their relationship ended. The implosion of their relationship coincided with the death of her longtime therapist. In the book, she claimed that at one point, he even wanted to have a baby with her.
  2. Ben Mendelsohn (2012-2016) – Emma Forrest started going out with Australian actor Ben Mendelsohn sometime before their wedding that was held at Chateau Marmont hotel in June 2012. Their marriage coincided with a golden period of his career and he even credited Emma for his success in his interviews. In 2014, she gave birth to their daughter, Carolina. However, their marriage didn’t survive long and it was publicly revealed that they were heading in separate ways in December 2016. However, the rumors of their separation had been there for a couple of months, which were intensified when she failed to join Ben for promotional events for his movie, Rogue One. About 3 weeks after the announcement of their separation, she filed for divorce.   2. She was almost strangled by the umbilical cord during her birth. In one of her interviews, she linked it with her manic-depressive tendencies.
  3. She was discovered when she wrote an article about chef Nigella Lawson for her school magazine.
  4. The Nigella Lawson article led to an opportunity to write a piece on Madonna commissioned by London Evening Standard. She was 15 years old at that time.
  5. When she was 22 years old, she moved to New York City after having secured a contract with a newspaper.
  6. During her early years in New York City, she was diagnosed with bulimia, which had been adversely affecting her health for a long time. She had to undergo multiple stints in rehab to take care of the disorder.
  7. In 2011, she published her autobiography Your Voice in My Head, which was featured on The New York Times Best Sellers list.
  8. She has been diagnosed with borderline personality disorder and bipolar disorder.
  9. At the age of 13, she first thought of committing suicide by overdosing on her mother’s valium. However, instead of swallowing, she spat it out.
