Francesca Hayward is a British ballet dancer and actress who had joined The Royal Ballet, an internationally renowned classical ballet company, based at the Royal Opera House in London, in 2010. There, she has been cast in several prominent roles in operas and stage productions. She was promoted to the position of ‘First Artist’ in 2013, ‘Soloist’ in 2014, ‘First Soloist’ in 2015, and ‘Principal Dancer’ in 2016. She had portrayed the character of Victoria the White Cat in the 2019 musical fantasy film Cats which was adapted from a stage musical of the same name.

Francesca had attended the Le Serve School of Ballet and Theatre Dance in Worthing, West Sussex. One of her teachers there had urged her to audition for the White Lodge, the junior section of the Royal Ballet School, a British school of classical ballet training in London.
Francesca had become a junior associate there at the age of 9 and had formally joined the institution in 2003, aged 11. She had progressed to the Royal Ballet Upper School in 2008 but could not officially graduate after being hampered by an injury. She had been given a certificate of attendance by the institution.

- Born in Nairobi, Kenya, Francesca had moved to the United Kingdom at the age of 2. There, she had lived for a while with her grandparents in the Goring-by-Sea suburb of Worthing in West Sussex.
- When she was 3 years old, her grandparents had bought her a video of The Nutcracker, a 2-act ballet. She was so fascinated by the show that she began getting trained in the art form soon after.
