Jimmy Uso Facts

  1. Jimmy and his twin brother Jey used to work at a furniture moving store before they were encouraged to pursue a wrestling career by their uncle and renowned professional wrestler Umaga.
  2. Their stage surname, Uso, means brother in the Samoan language. Between 2011 and 2016, they used to perform the Manu Siva Tau, a Samoan war dance, before their matches.
  3. In 2014, the duo was named ‘Tag Team of the Year’ by Pro Wrestling Illustrated magazine. The same year, Jimmy was ranked number 25 in the PWI 500, an annual list of the 500 best professional wrestlers in the world, published by Pro Wrestling Illustrated.
  4. The brothers made their video game debut in WWE ’13 and have since been featured in WWE 2K15, WWE 2K16, WWE 2K17, WWE 2K18, WWE 2K19, WWE 2K20, and WWE 2K22. They also made an uncredited cameo appearance in the 2016 American action film Countdown.
  5. In 2017, the duo was named ‘Tag Team of the Year’ by Rolling Stone magazine.
  6. In September 2011, Jimmy was arrested in Hillsborough County, Florida, and charged with DUI (driving under the influence). He was eventually convicted and sentenced to probation. In March 2013, he was arrested for violating his probation as he was driving with a suspended license.
  7. In February 2019, in Detroit, Michigan, his rental vehicle was pulled over because it was on the wrong way on a one-way street. His wife was driving and when the officers asked her to exit the vehicle, Jimmy took off his shirt and walked towards the officers, prompting one of them to pull out his taser. He was then arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and obstruction of justice. A month later, his attorney struck a plea deal with prosecutors and he was ordered to pay a USD 450 fine.
  8. In July 2019, Jimmy was again charged with DUI (driving under the influence), this time near Pensacola, Florida. He was taken into custody and was later released on a USD 1k bond.
