Jey Uso is an American professional wrestler who is best known for his highly successful tag team partnership with his twin brother Jimmy Uso at the WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment, Inc.) (2009-Present). As of October 2022, they were performing on the WWE’s SmackDown brand and were the reigning undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions, holding the RAW (another brand of the WWE) Tag Team Championship in their 3rd reign and the SmackDown Tag Team Championship in their 5th reign, which is the longest reign for this title at more than 470 days as well as the 4th longest tag team title reign in the history of the WWE. They are the first team to have won both the RAW and SmackDown Tag Team Championships and as of October 2022, the only team to have held these titles simultaneously. In both 2014 and 2015, the duo won the ‘Tag Team of the Year’ award at the Slammy Awards, an event organized by the WWE where awards are given to professional wrestlers, commentators, and managers. The brothers are also members of a stable (a team of 3 or more wrestlers who generally share common motives, allies, and adversaries within a storyline) called The Bloodline.

  1. Jey and his twin brother Jimmy used to work at a furniture moving store before they were encouraged to pursue a wrestling career by their uncle and renowned professional wrestler Umaga.
  2. Their stage surname, Uso, means brother in the Samoan language. Between 2011 and 2016, they used to perform the Manu Siva Tau, a Samoan war dance, before their matches.
  3. In 2014, the duo was named ‘Tag Team of the Year’ by Pro Wrestling Illustrated magazine. The same year, Jey was ranked number 26 in the PWI 500, an annual list of the 500 best professional wrestlers in the world, published by Pro Wrestling Illustrated.
  4. The brothers made their video game debut in WWE ’13 and have since been featured in WWE 2K15, WWE 2K16, WWE 2K17, WWE 2K18, WWE 2K19, WWE 2K20, and WWE 2K22. They also made an uncredited cameo appearance in the 2016 American action film Countdown.
  5. In 2017, the duo was named ‘Tag Team of the Year’ by Rolling Stone magazine.
  6. In January 2018, Jey was arrested in Hidalgo County, Texas, and charged with DWI (driving while intoxicated). He was released later that day after posting a USD 500 personal recognizance bond.
  7. In April 2021, he won the 7th edition of ‘André the Giant Memorial Battle Royal’, a namesake battle royal (a multi-competitor match type in which wrestlers are eliminated one by one until the last wrestler standing is declared the winner; a match typically begins with multiple participants in the ring who are eliminated when they are thrown over the top rope and both their feet touch the venue floor) held as part of WrestleMania (an iconic pay-per-view and live streaming wrestling event held annually between mid-March and mid-April) by the WWE.
