John Lennon was an English singer, songwriter, and peace activist who became a global icon as the founder, co-lead vocalist, and guitarist of the legendary band The Beatles. His songwriting partnership with Paul McCartney is widely recognized as one of the most influential and successful pairings of the 20th century. After The Beatles disbanded in 1970, he embarked on a solo career and frequently collaborated with his wife and fellow musician Yoko Ono.
