Jordy Bahl is an American softball player who has played, as a pitcher, for the Oklahoma Sooners (2022-2023) and the Nebraska Cornhuskers (2023-Present) at the intercollegiate level in the United States. Softball, a game similar to baseball, is played with a larger ball on a smaller field – with only underhand pitches allowed. It is played competitively at the club, college, and professional levels. Fastpitch and Slowpitch are the 2 variants of softball with their own rule sets. Slowpitch softball is commonly played recreationally, while women’s fastpitch softball is a Summer Olympic sport and is played professionally. With the Oklahoma Sooners, Jordy won the Women’s College World Series (WCWS) Championship in both 2022 and 2023. The WCWS is the final portion of the NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) Division I softball tournament. 8 teams participate in the WCWS and the convoluted series is structured in such a way that a team is eliminated when it has lost 2 games overall. After 6 teams have been eliminated, the remaining 2 teams compete in a best-of-3 series to determine the WCWS champion. Jordy was named the ‘Most Outstanding Player’ of the WCWS in 2023 and was also included in the ‘WCWS All-Tournament Team’.
