Kayshon Boutte Facts
- Kayshon, in his senior year at Westgate High School, had recorded 47 receptions for 1,005 yards with 15 touchdowns and rushed for 874 yards on 71 carries and 12 touchdowns. By the end of his high school career, he was a 5-star recruit and was also ranked the number 2 wide receiver in the country.
- In light of his performances, he was selected to participate in the 2020 edition of the Under Armour ‘High School All-American Game’. The event has been held annually since 2008, typically in early January in the state of Florida. The objective of the game is to put a spotlight on the country’s best high school seniors.
- In 2020, Kayshon committed to Louisiana State University, to play college football. When future NFL (National Football League) star Ja’Marr Chase chose to opt out of the season, to prepare for the 2021 NFL Draft, it meant that Kayshon would start his true freshman season in 2020 as one of the university’s top receivers.
- Soon, it became known that another future NFL star Terrace Marshall Jr. was withdrawing due to similar reasons. This made Kayshon the number one receiver for the LSU (Louisiana State University) Tigers in his true freshman season, a rather unusual occurrence.
- In a 2020 college football game against Ole Miss Rebels, he set an SEC (Southeastern Conference) record for receiving yards in a game with 14 receptions for 308 yards, adding 3 receiving touchdowns as well. Ole Miss Rebels are the men’s and women’s intercollegiate athletic teams that are funded by and represent the University of Mississippi, a public research university adjacent to Oxford, Mississippi.
- His siblings, Maya and Milani are identical twins.
