Kris Statlander Facts
- She had started her career working professionally as a stunt double for a few months. While working in the field, she began to develop an interest in wrestling and eventually signed up to train at the Create A Pro Wrestling Academy in Hicksville, New York, in 2016. She eventually became the first female to graduate from the academy.
- Â In 2019, Sports Illustrated magazine had ranked her at number 6 in its compilation of the top 10 female wrestlers of the year.
- In 2020, she was ranked at number 32 in the PWI Women’s 100, an annual list of the top 100 female wrestlers in the world, compiled by the Pro Wrestling Illustrated magazine.
- Soon after signing up with AEW in December 2019, she had defeated Britt Baker to become the No. 1 contender for the AEW Women’s World Championship. She had competed against Riho for the AEW women’s world title on January 8, 2020, but was defeated due to interferences by several wrestlers including Brandi Rhodes, Awesome Kong, Mel, and Luther.
- She had earned another opportunity to compete for the title on February 29, 2020, this time against newly crowned champion Nyla Rose. However, she failed to win the title again.
- In June 2020, during an episode of AEW Dynamite, she had suffered an ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) that had forced her out of competitive wrestling for a few months.
- She had also made a cameo appearance in WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment), in April 2019.
- A confessed science nerd, she has used an alien gimmick as her avatar for most of her matches, earning the nickname of ‘The Galaxy’s Greatest Alien’. In keeping with the theme, she has named her finishing moves – a 450° splash and an inverted piledriver – as ‘Area 451’ and the ‘Big Bang Theory’ respectively.
