When LiAngelo was about 4 or 5 years old, LaVar introduced his sons to bodyweight exercises such as dips and pushups. They also used to hang on the bars for fun and sometimes even in a bid to compete with each other.

Once he had turned 12, LaVar added free weights to LiAngelo’s workouts. So, LiAngelo was also doing bench press and shoulder press, along with pushups and pullups, after turning 12. He also had to regularly do sprints on the mile-long incline of the hill near their family home.
