Lil Rel Howery is an American actor and a comedian who is known for portraying the role of Rod Williams in the horror film Get Out (2017) and Bobby Carmichael in NBC’s television comedy series The Carmichael Show (2015–2017). Howery has starred in his self created and co-produced TV series Rel. He worked as a writer, producer, and an actor for the TruTV sketch comedy series, Friends of the People.   1. Before getting into the limelight, Rel used to perform stand-up comedy at a club called the Lion’s Den, located on Chicago’s East Side.
  2. During his childhood days, Rel used to write jokes and comedy scripts for a senior talent show.
  3. He was good at basketball and was named Lil Rel on his cousin brother’s name Darrel.
  4. At the age of 13 or 14, Rel stole a book named Pryor Convictions: And Other Life Sentences which is written by Richard Pryor.
  5. In June 2016, Howery got stuck into a case of misdemeanor battery where he was found not guilty.
  6. In 2017, Rel won the MTV Movie & TV Award in the “Best Comedic Performance” category for his performance in the film Get Out (2017).
