  1. He was born in Lafayette, Louisiana and brought up in Los Angeles, California.
  2. The pronunciation of his name goes like ‘Nahm-Dee Aso-MU-Wah’.
  3. Nnamdi Asomugha played both basketball and football during his school as well as college years.
  4. His father passed away when he was around 11 years old.
  5. He was influenced to play football as his older brother used to play the game and Asomugha just followed in his footsteps.
  6. Oakland Raiders drafted him as the second Cal player in the first round (31st overall) of the 2003 NFL draft.
