Phylicia Rashad is an American actor, voiceover artist, singer, and stage director who is known for playing Clair Huxtable in the NBC sitcom The Cosby Show, which earned her Emmy Award nominations in 1985 and 1986. She became the first female black actor in 2004 to win the Tony Award for “Best Actress in a Play”, which she won for her role in the revival of A Raisin in the Sun. Moreover, she has also been cast in films like Gods Behaving Badly, A Fall from Grace, Soul, Emily & Tim, For Colored Girls, Once Upon a Time…When We Were Colored, and Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Journey.
