Rhythm Sangwan is an Indian pistol shooter who won the ‘Gold’ medal in the 25 m pistol (team) event at the 2023 Baku ISSF (International Shooting Sport Federation – the governing body for Olympic shooting events) World Shooting Championships. She had also secured the ‘Silver’ medal in the 25 m standard pistol (individual), the 10 m air pistol (team), and the 25 m pistol (team) events at the 2022 Cairo ISSF World Shooting Championships. During the 2023 ISSF World Cup, Rhythm clinched the ‘Gold’ medal in the 10 m air pistol (mixed team) event in the Cairo stage; the ‘Silver’ medal in the 10 m air pistol (mixed team) event in the Bhopal stage; and the ‘Bronze’ medal in the 10 m air pistol (individual) event in the Baku stage. During the 2022 ISSF World Cup, she won the ‘Gold’ medal in the 25 m pistol (team) and the 25 m rapid fire pistol (mixed team) events in the Cairo stage. She also secured the ‘Silver’ medal in the 10 m air pistol (team) event and the ‘Bronze’ medal in the 25 m rapid fire pistol (mixed team) event in the Changwon stage of the competition. At the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games (held in September and October 2023 due to the COVID-19 pandemic), Rhythm clinched the ‘Gold’ medal in the 25 m pistol (team) event.

- Rhythm’s parents were the ones who had encouraged her to take up the sport of shooting. When she was about 12 years old, she began practicing at the Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range in India’s capital city of New Delhi.
- She first came into the spotlight by winning 3 ‘Gold’ medals at the 61st National Shooting Championship – held in December 2017.
- She then bagged 4 ‘Gold’ medals at the 2021 Lima ISSF (International Shooting Sport Federation) Junior World Championships – in the 10 m air pistol (team), the 25 m pistol (team), the 25 m standard pistol (individual), and the 25 m rapid fire pistol (mixed team) events.
- Rhythm also clinched the ‘Gold’ medal in the 25 m pistol (team) and the 25 m pistol (individual) events at the 2022 Suhl ISSF Junior World Cup.
- In November 2022, at the Daegu Asian Airgun Championships, she won the ‘Gold’ medal in the 10 m air pistol (individual) and the 10 m air pistol (mixed team) events. She also secured the ‘Silver’ medal in the 10 m air pistol (team) event.
- In May 2023, Rhythm shot 595 in the qualification round of the women’s 25 m pistol event in the Baku stage of the ISSF World Cup. With this performance, she broke the 29-year-old record of 594 that was set by Diana Iorgova of Bulgaria – at the Milan ISSF World Cup in May 1994. Diana went on to clinch the ‘Silver’ medal at the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games in the 25 m pistol event.
