Rory Culkin is an American actor who came to limelight after his performance as Rudy Prescott in the movie You Can Count on Me (2000) for which he was conferred the Young Artist Award for “Best Performance in a Feature Film – Supporting Young Actor”. He gained further popularity by starring in several other movies like Scream 4 (2011) where he portrayed the role of Charlie Walker and Columbus (2017) where he played the part of Gabriel. He has also appeared in numerous TV shows including The Job (2001–2002) where he portrayed the character of Davey McNeil.

- His father was looking for Irish names and he had chosen “Rory” as a first name, and “Hugh” stood for his maternal grandfather Hubert.
- He used to be offered acting gigs from a tender age as his brother Macaulay was performing in movies as early as 1990. His film debut came in The Good Son (1993), that had also starred Macaulay.
- Rory along with his siblings had a difficult life and upbringing. He grew up in the midst of poverty, sharing a single room with his big family. His parents could hardly manage to take care of them and they never even had proper clothes to wear to on the auditions. The scenario changed only after his brother Macaulay became a household name. However, the change was only in terms of the financial aspect and their lives only got even more grueling from that point on, with their father always pressurizing and ill-treating them.
