  1. He grew up in the Magnolia Projects, one of the Housing Projects of New Orleans.
  2. After dropping out of school, he started selling drugs and formed an addiction to heroin and cocaine.
  3. On May 19, 1998, Soulja Slim released his debut studio album Give It 2 ‘Em Raw via No Limit Records and Priority. It included songs like From What I Was Told, Wright Me (ft. O’Dell), Me & My Cousin (ft. Full Blooded), You Ain’t Never Seen (ft. Master P), You Got It (ft. Mia X), Takin’ Hits, N.L. Party (ft. Master P, Silkk The Shocker, Full Blooded, Tre-Nitty, Gambino Family, Big Ed, Prime Suspects, Mac, Kane & Abel, Magic, and Snoop Dogg), Law Brekaz, and What’s Up, What’s Happening.
  4. The album Give It 2 ‘Em Raw is widely credited as one of No Limit’s greatest albums and it peaked at #4 on the US Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums (Billboard) chart and at #13 on the US Billboard 200 chart.
  5. Soulja Slim’s 2nd studio album The Streets Made Me was released on July 24, 2001, and it included songs like Gun Smoke, Skit, Make It Bounce, Where They At, My Jacket, and I’m a Fool.
  6. His 4th and final studio album titled Years Later…A Few Months After was released on August 26, 2003, exactly 3 months before his death.
  7. He was shot by an assailant 4 times, 3 times in the face and once in the chest, on November 26, 2003, on the front lawn of the home of his mother and stepfather in the Gentilly neighborhood.
