  1. He was selected to play for the Carolina Panthers in the 3rd round (74th overall) of the 2001 NFL Draft on April 21, 2001.
  2. While playing for the Carolina Panthers, Steve was awarded the 2005 ‘NFL Comeback Player of the Year’ Award along with Tedy Bruschi, who was the linebacker for the New England Patriots.
  3. He played alongside Chad Johnson while studying at Santa Monica Junior College. Johnson went on to become a successful wide receiver for the Cincinnati Bengals.
  4. In 2005, Steve was the highest-ranking player in terms of catches, touchdowns, and receiving yards, thus, distinguishing him as one of the most productive wide receivers of the 21st century.
  5. In 2011, he became the 35th player in the history of the NFL to amass 10,000 receiving yards.
  6. In the past, Steve and his wife Angie co-founded the Posey Foundation in honor of his deceased junior college teammate, Demetrius Posey. He has stated that the foundation’s goal is to foster lifetime friendships.
